Drive your car:
Private vehicles are not allowed on to Ford Island unless you have permission. Contact a club officer who will arrange for entry to Ford Island.
From Waikiki, take the H1 freeway and pass the airport. Watch for the Pearl Harbor exit. Don't take it. Immediately after the Pearl Harbor exit is an exit labeled "Arizona Memorial, Stadium." Take this exit. You will pass the Navy base on your left, including some large oil storage tanks, and headquarters for the Pacific Fleet on your right. Continue past the Arizona Memorial entrance to the next traffic light (Salt Lake Boulevard/Ford Island Boulevard). At this traffic light, turn left to enter Ford Island via the Admiral Clarey Bridge.
Follow Ford Island Boulevard into the traffic circle. Exit the circle at the third (last). Take the first left turn once out of the traffic circle. This road will take you to the entrance to the Battleship Memorial. Park in the adjacent parking lots, come to the gate and advise the guard you are here for a Toastmasters Club meeting.
You may also take the Battleship Missouri trolley to the Battleship. Next to the Arizona Memorial visitors center is the Bowfin Memorial. You may park here and catch a trolley to the Battleship Missouri. The last trolley departs at 5:00 P.M. A club member will bring you back to your car after the meeting.
Take a city bus:
There is no direct service from Waikiki to the Missouri. If you are taking the city bus: catch the Express B on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki, transfer to Express A at Punchbowl and Beretania, and get off at the Aloha Stadium stop. It is a good walk to the Battleship from here, so contact a club officer who can meet you at the Ford Island entry gate to give you a ride to the Battleship. Buses run about every 15 minutes. Call TheBus at 848-5555 or check their web site to confirm route hasn't changed.
